ARABIAN PERFUME OILS

Arabian perfume oils (or fragrance oils) have a rich history dating back thousands of years, with origins in ancient civilisations. Early records show that the Egyptians, Mesopotamians and Indus Valley people used fragrant oils for religious rituals, medicine and personal adornment around 3,000 BCE.

In ancient Greece and Rome, perfume oils became symbols of luxury and status. Trade routes expanded, bringing exotic spices, flowers and resins from places like Arabia and India, where perfumes were highly valued.

By the Middle Ages, perfume oils were further refined by Arab and Persian chemists, who developed techniques like steam distillation. These methods spread to Europe during the Renaissance, leading to the modern development of the fragrance industry.

Today, Arabian perfume oils remain popular for their concentration, longevity and connection to ancient perfumery traditions.

FRAGRANCE TIPS

How to make your Arabian perfume oils last longer

You can maximise the longevity of your Arabian perfume oils by firstly making sure that your skin is moisturised. This will help lock in the fragrance molecules. Avoid applying perfume to dry or wet skin. Secondly, apply the perfume oil to your pulse points – wrists, neck and behind the ears. These parts of the body emit heat, which enhances the scent's diffusion throughout the day. Thirdly, apply a small amount of perfume to your clothes. To avoid staining your clothes, apply a small amount of perfume oil to your hands, gently pat or rub your hands together, then lightly dab or wipe them over your clothes.

Did you know?

The distinction between men’s and women’s perfumes began to emerge in the late 19th century during the rise of mass-produced cosmetics and fragrances. Before that, perfumes were largely unisex, with scents such as musk and oud being used by both men and women. Therefore, although our fragrances are marketed towards men, they can equally be enjoyed by women.
